This weekend's tournament is also a qualifier for the National Championships, which will be held in November 2025, in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. Competing at the highest level is so important for our athletes as it provides an excellent opportunity to showcase their skills, dedication, and teamwork on a national stage. Your participation and performance could pave the way to representing your team and community at the National Championships, where the best teams from across the country will come together for an unforgettable competition.

Dear Coaches and Teams,

The tournament schedules are now posted for the 5v5 Scranton, PA Soccer tournament this Monday. You can view them at this link: https://soccer.exposureevents.com/234071/5v5-scranton-pa-indoor/schedule

Please review the schedule to ensure you are in the correct division and that there are no conflicts with your bracket(s). Schedules are subject to change, so be sure to check back on Friday evening.

Please check in your team at the Team Check In table 30 minutes prior to your first game. Remember to bring any roster changes, as this will be your last opportunity to make changes. Also, make sure to have a photo or copy of proof of age. Only one representative from each team needs to attend the check-in.

You are welcome to email me all the forms for a non-contact check-in. Make sure to send 1 email per team, subject put the team name exactly like they are registered with the division they are playing. Make sure to sign the bottom of the roster form. Although proof of age won’t be examined at check-in, please keep the cards/certificates with you in case of a challenge.

We want to remind everyone of our zero tolerance policy for referee abuse at 5v5 Soccer. As we aim to create a positive and fun tournament, it is crucial that we maintain a supportive sideline environment. While competition is part of the game, let's remember to be respectful and encouraging.

Referees play a vital role in ensuring fair play, and we must treat them with respect. Please remember to:

‣Encourage positive behavior
‣Cheer and support without aggression
‣Communicate with respect
‣Focus on player development

By following these guidelines, we can create a safe and inclusive atmosphere for everyone involved. This should extend to how we treat all team supporters, coaches, staff members, players on both teams and our officials.

Hello and thank you for registering for our 4th Annual President's Day 5v5 Soccer Tournament in Scranton, PA. As mentioned previously, name is Dawn and I am your Area Director.

FAQ

Q: Can I add or change a player(s) on my roster?
A: Yes, the roster is not final until the start of your first game. Please bring any roster changes to the team check-in, unless the change affects the division you are in, in which case you must notify me by e-mail. All players must fill out the online waiver form, and be on the paper roster you turn in at check-in.

Q: What is the uniform policy?
A: Players must be in like colors and shin guards are required.

Q: What do I need to bring to the check-in?
A: 1) 5v5 Roster (link above). 2) Verify that all players have filled out the online player waiver (link above)

Q: What if I want to register a co-ed team?
A: We are happy to have co-ed teams. We will create co-ed divisions when we have a sufficient number in any age group. If we do not have enough, they will play in a male division.

The tournament will be held at the Riverfront Sports Complex, 5 W Olive St., Scranton, PA

Games will be played indoor on turf. No outside food permitted, concessions are available on site.

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

We will continue to accept teams on an as needed basis, with the Team List being published Thursday.

Teams will be grouped into divisions based on birth year and skill level. When necessary, brackets may be combined by teams +/- 1 year and/or skill level to make the most competitive brackets possible.

SCHEDULE & SPECIAL REQUESTS

►Schedule Requests? Send any schedule requests no later than Friday at 6 pm to dawn@5v5soccer.com. Include team name, division, and event location in the subject line.

►If the request is made later than Friday at 6 pm, changes may not be accepted.

If your team has not paid, please do so now. Failure to pay or communicate with staff will result in your team being removed from the event by Saturday morning.

Game Format

►All teams play a minimum of 4 games.
►Divisions with 3, 5, or 6 teams play round-robin; 1st place is determined by points.
►4-team divisions have 3 pool games and a final playoff.
