This weekend's tournament is also a qualifier for the National Championships, which will be held in November 2025, in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. Competing at the highest level is so important for our athletes as it provides an excellent opportunity to showcase their skills, dedication, and teamwork on a national stage. Your participation and performance tomorrow could pave the way to representing your team and community at the National Championships, where the best teams from across the country will come together for an unforgettable competition.

Dear Coaches and Teams,

The tournament schedules are now posted for the New Years Eve 5v5 Soccer tournament in Wilkes Barre, PA. You can view the schedules here: https://soccer.exposureevents.com/234805/5v5-wilkes-barre-pa/schedule

Please review the schedule to ensure you are in the correct division and that there are no conflicts with your bracket(s). Schedules are subject to change, so be sure to check back on Monday evening.

Please check in your team at the check in table 30 minutes prior to your first game. Remember to bring any roster changes, as this will be your last opportunity to make changes. Also, make sure to have a photo or copy of proof of age. Only one representative from each team needs to attend the check-in.

You are welcome to email me all the forms for a non-contact check-in. Make sure to send 1 email per team, subject put the team name exactly like they are registered with the division they are playing. Make sure to sign the bottom of the roster form. Roster form can be found here. Although proof of age won’t be examined at check-in, please keep the cards/certificates with you in case of a challenge.

REMINDERS:
- Please have all player waivers completed prior to the tournament. Parents will receive a confirmation email once their waiver is complete. We recommend having the parents forward that email to you so you can track who has completed their waiver and who hasn't. Waivers can be found here.

- No outside food is allowed in the Dome. Concessions are available on site. Chairs will be permitted on the turf.

We want to remind everyone of our zero tolerance policy for referee abuse at 5v5 Soccer. As we aim to create a positive and fun tournament, it is crucial that we maintain a supportive sideline environment. While competition is part of the game, let's remember to be respectful and encouraging.

Referees play a vital role in ensuring fair play, and we must treat them with respect. Please remember to:

‣Encourage positive behavior
‣Cheer and support without aggression
‣Communicate with respect
‣Focus on player development

By following these guidelines, we can create a safe and inclusive atmosphere for everyone involved. This should extend to how we treat all team supporters, coaches, staff members, players on both teams and our officials.

Hello Coaches! Thank you for registering for our New Year's Eve 5v5 Soccer Tournament in Wilkes Barre, PA. As mentioned previously, my name is Dawn Hansen and I will be your Tournament Director. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me via email at dawn@5v5soccer.com, and I will respond as soon as possible.

Please review the Important Reminders & FAQs listed below, and check the team list posted online at 5v5 Wilkes Barre Team List for accuracy. Ensure you are in the correct division and email me with any corrections.

We currently have a few “Open Slots” (3 team brackets) for the divisions listed below. If you know anyone interested in filling these slots, please have them contact me as soon as possible. We will fill slots on a first-come, first-served basis.

The schedule will be posted on www.5v5soccer.com by Sunday at 8:00 PM. Sometimes, it may be necessary to combine divisions. For an explanation of our grouping procedure, visit: www.5v5soccer.com/divisions.

The tournament will be held at the Wyoming Valley Sports Dome, 131 Bear Creek Blvd., Wilkes Barre, PA. Games will be played on indoor turf. Cleats are allowed.

Please note, no outside food will be allowed in the Dome. There will be concessions available on site. Bleachers will be set up throughout the Dome, but chairs are also permitted.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

Every player needs to fill out an online waiver form: www.5v5soccer.com/waiver. All teams must have proof of age submitted prior to the tournament. If your team is using player cards for age verification, please feel free to email them over to me ahead of time at dawn@5v5soccer.com.

Every team needs to have a printed Tournament roster due at check in (30 mins prior to your first game) www.5v5soccer.com/documents.

All teams must be paid prior to the tournament date.

FAQ

Q: Can I add or change a player(s) on my roster?
A: Yes, the roster is not final until the start of your first game. Please bring any roster changes to the team check-in, unless the change affects the division you are in, in which case you must notify me by e-mail. All players must fill out the online waiver form, and be on the paper roster you turn in at check-in.

Q: What is the uniform policy?
A: Players must be in like colors and shin guards are required.

Q: What do I need to bring to the check-in?
A: 1) 5v5 Roster (link above). 2) Verify that all players have filled out the online player waiver (link above)

Q: What if I want to register a co-ed team?
A: We are happy to have co-ed teams. We will create co-ed divisions when we have a sufficient number in any age group. If we do not have enough, they will play in a male division.

Welcome and thanks for signing up for the Wilkes-Barre 5v5 Soccer Tournament on Tuesday, December, 31st! We’re excited to have you as part of this inaugural event at The Wyoming Valley Sports Dome! Below is some IMPORTANT information about our upcoming event, so please be sure to read through everything carefully.

Team List:

Teams will be grouped into divisions based on birth year and skill level. Brackets may be combined by teams +/- 1 year and/or skill level to make the most competitive brackets possible.

We are still accepting team registrations so please feel free to share this link with all of your soccer friends!

We will continue to accept teams on an as needed basis, with the Final Team List being published on Friday.

Schedule & Special Requests:

Full schedules will be posted late Sunday night. If you have any schedule requests, please send them no later than Saturday at 6 pm to Dawn@5v5soccer.com. Be sure to include the team name, division, and event location in the subject line. Please note: If the request is made later than Saturday at 6pm, changes may not be accepted.

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

Game Format:

All teams play a minimum of 4 games. Divisions with 3, 5, or 6 teams play round-robin; 1st place is determined by points. 4-team divisions have 3 pool games and a final playoff.

Nationals Qualification:

Teams placing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd qualify for 2025 Nationals in Tampa, FL

Player Waiver:

To speed up your check in process ALL PLAYERS must complete the online waiver by Sunday at midnight: Player Waiver. No Waiver. No Play.

Team Roster:

Coach / Manager responsibility: *** Print and bring to check-in*** Complete and have a printed Tournament Roster ready to turn in at check in. This is your Official Roster.
