This event was also part of the 5v5 Soccer National Tour, with the top 3 teams in each division qualifiying for our National Championship in Palm Beach, FL this November 29th & 30, 2025. We hope to see all qualifying teams in sunny Florida!

A quick note...There will be several covered areas throughout the concourse of the stadium, and the club and team store will be open as well.

This weekend's tournament is also a qualifier for the National Championships, which will be held in November 2025, in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. We want to remind everyone of our zero tolerance policy for referee abuse at 5v5 Soccer. As we aim to create a positive and fun tournament, it is crucial that we maintain a supportive sideline environment. While competition is part of the game, let's remember to be respectful and encouraging.

Referees play a vital role in ensuring fair play, and we must treat them with respect. Please remember to:

‣Encourage positive behavior
‣Cheer and support without aggression
‣Communicate with respect
‣Focus on player development

By following these guidelines, we can create a safe and inclusive atmosphere for everyone involved. This should extend to how we treat all team supporters, coaches, staff members, players on both teams and our officials.

Hello Coaches! Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we inch our way closer to the RIFC 5v5 Tournament at Tidewater Stadium in Pawtucket, RI. We know you are all anxious for the upcoming event. We are excited to see everyone on Saturday. In this email you will find more important information and reminders. Again, PLEASE READ THROUGH THIS IN ITS ENTIRETY, and be sure to pass this information along to your teams as well.

There have been a few slight changes to the schedule. Please take a look and make sure the schedule still works for your team.

WEATHER: There is rain in the forecast for Saturday. The tournament will take place, rain or shine. In the event of lightning, there will be a lightning delay. Otherwise, the event will go on as planned.

Stadium Entry (North Main Gate)

All parents and spectators will need to have a ticket to enter the stadium. This is a FREE ticket but they will need to use the link below to claim their tickets. Only parents and spectators will need tickets. All players and coaches will be provided a wristband for field access. Only 2 coaches will be allowed per team.

Stadium Map

A map of the stadium is attached. There will be 12 gates for entry into the stadium, with a separate designated section for the players and coaches to enter. Please allow for plenty of extra time to get your team through the gate and over to the check in tent. Staff will be available to help direct everyone to their appropriate places.

- The Benchside Sections (Blue & Purple) will be reserved for coaches and teams to sit in between their games. Only the coaches and teams playing during that time will be allowed on the field. Bags are to be kept off of the field in an effort to keep the fields clear.
- The Orange, Yellow and Blue sections will be open for spectators, as noted on the map.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FROM RIFC:

- Bags are allowed but are subject to search.
- No coolers or outside food is allowed. Players are allowed to have water bottles. There will be concessions and food trucks available.
- No chairs or tents allowed. There is plenty of stadium seating available in the Orange, Yellow, and Blue sections for spectators.
- Per stadium policy, umbrellas are prohibited inside the stadium. Fans should bring raincoats or ponchos for inclement weather.

Parking Information

Attendees can enjoy free parking at all Reserved Lots. Reserved lots are in Blue – M7 and D4/D5/D6 are recommended for an 8 to 10 min. walk to the stadium. T lots will not be available for this event.

Taft Street will be closed to vehicles, but is walkable to the stadium. For more information about parking and transportation to the stadium, visit http://rhodeislandfc.com/parking.

CHECK IN: All teams will need to check in at the 5v5 check in table 30 minutes prior to their first game. Only one coach needs to check the team in. Because this is a large venue, we are asking that everyone factor in plenty of extra time to find parking and make your way to the stadium without being late.

5v5 REMINDERS:
- ALL players must complete a player waiver and submit their proof of age here http://5v5soccer.com/waiver. Everyone should receive a confirmation email once their waiver has been submitted. We recommend coaches have all confirmations forwarded to them so they can verify that all waivers have been completed for their players.
- ALL teams must complete a Team Roster. This may be printed and handed in at check in, or submitted online at http://5v5soccer.com/roster
- All documents can be found on http://5v5soccer.com/documents

OTHER IMPORTANT REMINDERS: Games will be running on 6 fields, back to back, from 7:30 am to 8 pm, with only 5 minutes in between each game. It is IMPERITIVE that we all work together to make sure everything stays on time to the best of our ability. One 5 minute delay can snowball into a 30 minute delay down the road. Please be sure your coaches and players remain near the field so all games can begin on time. If your team is not on the field when the game starts, it will result in a forfeit. Half times are only one minute long. The clock will start and end on time. If your team is slow to get out, they will miss play time. Games WILL stay on track.

This event is a soft opener for Tidewater Stadium. Along with the 5v5 Tournament, there will be an open house from 11 am - 2 pm that will be open to the public so it will get busy. Exit and re-entry into the stadium will be allowed however, in the interest of time, we ask that coaches and players not leave the stadium in between games unless your team has a longer break.

As always, should you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out. Please note that I will be traveling the second half of the day Friday and setting up Friday evening. If you reach out during that time, there may be some delays in my response time but I will get back to you as soon as I am able.
