Hey everyone,


So, we're calling off the 5v5 Summer League games tonight because it's gonna be super hot and humid. The weather should cool down later this week, and we'd love to see you all at our 5v5 tournament.

Please remember that the primary goal of this league, during our initial summer season, was to offer a space for play, provide referees, create a positive atmosphere, and strive for quality matchups. The importance of standings is secondary. If you are seeking standings and trophies, I would suggest participating in one of the many 5v5 tournaments. Perhaps next year, we may maintain standings and award trophies to the first, second, and third-place teams.

I've updated the schedules for the next two weeks of play. I'll finalize the remaining three weeks tomorrow.


Please note that some teams have been moved to new divisions, and I've also created a few new divisions. This means some divisions now have an odd number of teams, which makes scheduling the guaranteed two matches per team each night a bit more challenging. Consequently, some teams will have three matches on certain nights.

I would like to express our sincere gratitude for selecting our Summer 5v5 League as your soccer option this summer. As this is a new league for our club, we are committed to continuously improving it throughout the season and in the years to come, with the aim of making it the premier summer league in Iowa. Please note that while there will be some schedule adjustments for the week of July 9th, the current schedule will remain in effect for this week. We will review all scores from the upcoming matches this Wednesday, as well as those from the past few weeks, to refine the matchups.


Regarding tomorrow's matches, I understand that some teams may have players unable to attend. If you would like to add a player or two to your roster, you are welcome to do so. Please ensure that any new players sign the online waiver before participating.

TOURNAMENT & GAME FORMAT
• Roster: Max of 10
• Ball Size: We will play with the same ball size you use in the regular season unless playing “up”
• Goals: 6x12 feet Bownet goals (facility dependent)
• Field Size: 30 yards wide by 40 yards long (facility dependent)
• 4-game guarantee
• Format: 4+GK
• 5v5 Open to all teams: from teams with players born in 2018 through Adults.
• When we go to create divisions, teams will be combined +/- 1 year and similar ability level.
• This is a non-sanctioned event so it's open to all teams from all States.
• 5v5 National Championship: Join us in Central Florida, top teams will qualify for the 2025 5v5 Nationals. Click here for more details!

The full summer league schedule will be released on or before Sunday, June 22nd.

CREATING BALANCED DIVISIONS - JUNE 18TH
The first scheduled night of league play will be used to create divisions and a schedule for the remaining summer league. *On June 18th teams will play 4 to 6 12 minutes matches vs full 24 minute matches. Scores will be recorded and teams will then be placed in divisions for the league based on their level of play.

Times:

6:30 PM to 10:45 PM

7U to 15U played between 6:30 to 9:30

16U to Adult played between 7:00 to 10:45
