The tournament schedules are now posted for the 5v5 Soccer tournament in Barco, NC: Jan 17, 2026. You can view them using this link: https://soccer.exposureevents.com/255532/e/schedule, If you downloaded the 5v5 Soccer app, all game information and updates will be available there as well.

Please review the schedule to ensure you are in the correct division and that there are no conflicts with your bracket(s). Schedules are subject to change, so be sure to check back on Friday evening.

Please check your team in at the tournament headquarters tent 30 minutes prior to your first game. Remember to bring a print out of your team roster, along with proof of age for each of your players. Only one representative from each team needs to attend the check-in.

FYI, there are multiple fields at Currituck County Parks and Rec. We are having all our games near the bathrooms and the concession stand at 151 Maple Parkway.

Thank you so much for being part of our 5v5 soccer tournament this coming Saturday. We’re excited to have you with us!

We’re also thrilled to share that during the event, we’ll be supporting the For the Players Foundation and their wonderful project, “Cleats for Kids.” If you have any gently used cleats, feel free to bring them on Saturday Januatry 17th and drop them off at the For the Players Foundation table located near the registration table. You’ll also have the chance to participate in their raffles and help make a positive impact in our soccer community.

Barco, NC players and Families :

IMPORTANT:

We want to remind everyone of our zero-tolerance policy for referee abuse at 5v5 Soccer. As we aim to create a positive and fun tournament, it is crucial that we maintain a supportive sideline environment. While competition is part of the game, let's remember to be respectful and encouraging. Referees play a vital role in ensuring fair play, and we must treat them with respect.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO:

‣ Encourage positive behavior
‣ Cheer and support without aggression
‣ Communicate with respect
‣ Focus on player development

By following these guidelines, we can create a safe and inclusive atmosphere for everyone involved. This should extend to how we treat all team supporters, coaches, staff members, players on both teams and our officials.

A FEW POINTS OF EMPHASIS ON THE 5V5 SOCCER RULES

Touchline (Sideline) Restarts: In place of throw-ins will be kick-ins OR a dribble in with the ball placed stationary on the touchline. A player may not directly kick a ball into the goal from its stationary restart position. A player may dribble the ball into play and after the ball makes a full rotation may then be kicked into the goal. Kick-ins will be treated as indirect kicks until dribbled.

Direct Restarts: A Corner Kick and Kickoff are Direct Kicks. The kick-off may go in any direction.

Goal Kick: Any time a Goal Kick is required, the goalkeeper will execute a Goal Clearance (ball must leave the Penalty Arc). The goalkeeper will start with the ball in their hands and may either (1) Throw or roll the ball, (2) Put the ball down and pass/kick, (3) put the ball down and dribble out of the Penalty Arc.

Once the ball has been put down, the ball is effectively “live”, meaning defending players may enter the penalty arc. The goalkeeper must release the ball within four seconds. Failure to execute the Goal Clearance within 4 seconds will result in an Indirect kick at the top of the arc for the opposition. A goal may not be scored directly from a goal clearance. Once the ball is OUTSIDE the Penalty Arc, a goal may be scored from anywhere on the field. The ball may not be punted or drop-kicked. Infractions will result in an Indirect Kick at the top of the arc for the opposition.

PLAYER WAIVER
►ALL PLAYERS must complete the online waiver thru exposuresoccer by Thursday at midnight.
►No Waiver. No Play.

TEAM ROSTER
►Coach / Manager responsibility: Complete roster must be entered into Exposure soccer. This is your Official Roster only players listed and that have completed waivers will be eligible to complete.

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION:

DIVISIONS
Teams will be grouped into divisions based on birth year and skill level. Brackets will be combined by teams +/- 1 year and/or skill level to make the most competitive brackets possible.

SCHEDULE & SPECIAL REQUESTS

►Full schedule posted late Thursday night

►Schedule Requests? Send any schedule requests no later than Wednesday at 6 pm to Patricia@5v5soccer.com. Include team name, division, and event location in the subject line.

►If the request is made later than Wednesday at 6pm, changes may not be accepted.

GAME FORMAT
►All teams play a minimum of 4 games.
►Divisions with 3, 5, or 6 teams play round-robin; 1st place is determined by points.
►4-team divisions have 3 pool games and a final playoff.
