I have attached a list of items that should be left off of the synthetic turf fields. I understand Saturday is going to be really cold and people will be looking for ways to warm up. I would recommend thermal wear, blankets, gloves, portable battery powered warmers, etc.

To ensure a safe and well-maintained facility, the following articles and
activities are PROHIBITED in ALL complex areas:
Glass of any type
Alcoholic beverages
Smoking and use of smokeless tobacco products
Skateboarding, biking, and in-line skating
The following are PROHIBITED on synthetic field turf areas:
Gum, and shelled seeds or nuts (a serious allergy risk to others)
​​Sharp objects such as tent stakes, corner flags, and poles that may penetrate or damage the turf.
Chairs or benches (these items may puncture the turf or cause damage)
Portable heater and any open flame
Metal cleats or high heeled shoes
Dogs or Other Pets
Any golfing or throwing activities such as hammer, shot, discus or javelin
Suntan lotions, oils or creams of any kind - Please apply sunblock prior to entering the turf area

Please read everything in this email. Sorry, this is long but full of important info. Please make sure to provide this information to your parents or forward this email.
All times on the schedule are TEXAS TIME (central).
The initial Tournament schedules are now posted for the 5v5 Soccer tournament this weekend in Lubbock, TX. I Believe I was able to accommodate all the requests I received. Please know this is still subject to change, however most schedules should stay basically the same. Occasionally there are a few changes or last minute updates. Remember DO NOT send screen shots of the schedule to your fans / teams /players / or parents or use them for yourself. Use only the live site, as the schedule is subject to change (screen shots do not update). The best way to see the schedule and follow your team is by downloading our free app 5v5soccer. If you have fans coming to watch your team please provide them with the schedule. We get a lot of lost Grandparent’s who don’t know the team name / team color or /field #. It takes us a good amount of time to locate who they are searching for and they miss part of the game they have worked so hard to get to.

Please Email the completed official roster to me Natalie@5v5soccer.com no later than 12/8 8 PM. If you choose to turn in at the event please only have 1 person from the team (coach or team manager turn in the official roster to keep the process moving at HQ).

The cabana restrooms will not be opened they have been closed for the winter – Instead there will be port-a-potties on site for this event. I recommend bringing Toilet paper and wipes and sanitizer (just in case).

Parking it will be an issue with 75 teams there will be very limited options. DO NOT double park or block cars – everyone is on a different schedule and many leave throughout the event. There will be a regular visit for towing and or tickets for cars blocking other cars. Also do not park in the grass that is a ticket!

We are Playing at the Berl Huffman Athletic Complex on the turf fields (these are the fields inside the gated area.) A field map will be sent out Saturday morning – do not use Berl Huffmans Field map as it is not the same as mine.

As a reminder, please ask your players to help keep the complex beautiful by throwing trash in the many available trash cans - they will be emptied throughout the day. If you can, bring some trash bags for your team to help keep your area clean. Morgan (on-site Director) will have some extras in case you forget.

Remember no tents, Player benches, canopies, chairs, stools, wagons, coolers, and so on can be used on the turf. Everything must stay on the concrete (including all legs of the chairs / tents) We will have people coming around to ask you to move. Only certified service animals are allowed. No pets or emotional support animals are permitted for this event. Alcohol is not allowed at the event. No Gas stoves or propane heaters are allowed.

******If you ordered a tournament t-shirt in the player waiver process, please pick up at the tournament HQ, after your second game (this will allow coaches time to complete their teams check in process. If you want to purchase a tournament shirt onsite, we will have a limited supply for sale $20 each.

The player pass is virtual there is nothing to pick up.

I recommend having all your parents and players download our app to follow your team(s) and to receive automatic schedule updates, messages, and all things important about the tournament, our app is free on Apple or Android (5v5 Soccer).

Every team will play at least 4 games - only divisions with 4 or 7 teams in the division will have playoff games (this means you may not see 4 scheduled games on your initial schedule) - Once your Pool play is completed - you will have to go to the button in the app called bracket to see the playoff games -for your division. Once all scores are entered from pool play the names of teams will automatically fill into the bracket play. That will allow you to see which teams advanced and when and where they play. (This does take some time) Please don't rush over right after your 3rd game and start asking where you play, we will not know immediately. We must input the scores and wait for the updates as well. All other divisions play round robin (this means you play each team in your division 1 time. 3 team divisions play each team twice. You will place 1st, 2nd, 3rd and so on based on points (see rules for tie breakers) unless you are in a 4 or 7 team division and then it will be based on the playoff game.

1st, 2nd, & 3rd place will receive medals. These teams will qualify for the National Championship in Florida this November 2024. (this means you are invited to register and participate in the National event) Please visit www.5v5soccer.com for more info.

Make sure all your players have completed the online player waiver www.5v5soccer.com/waiver - (parents get a confirmation email once this is completed - so you can have this sent to you for verification) the online waiver will be checked against the official paper roster turned in 30 mins before your 1st game. If a player has not completed the online waiver but plays in a game or isn't on the official roster but plays - the game is then forfeited and scored 10-0 for the other team (there will be a short (very short) grace period for players to complete the online form onsite.
The official roster cannot be changed once your 1st game has started. The max roster is - the 10 players on the roster that is turned in must stay the same for all the games. Another example would be If you have only 8 players but 2 more show up late make sure they are on the roster before your 1st game, they cannot be added after your 1st game starts. However, you can start the day with a 10 player roster but only have 8 players at the event – play 2 games with these 8 players and then for the last 2 games have the final 2 players show up and now have all 10 of your players – this is acceptable as long as they were on your official roster before your 1st game was played.

Hello,

I would like to thank you for registering for the 5v5 Soccer Tournament in Lubbock, TX December 9th. My name is Natalie and I will be your Tournament Scheduler and Contact prior to the Event day. Please remember the rules of the complex – Nothing is allowed on the turf fields all chairs and tents must stay on concrete. Things not allowed on turf include but are not limited to– Chairs / coolers / Tents / wagons / player benches / stools / camping chairs / the front legs of the chairs / front legs or 1 leg of the tent.
Please be sure to have your players / parents / fans - clean up their area after each game and around the Team's base camp. If you need a trash bag extras will be at the tournament headquarters.

We are actively working to fill in the open spots. If you know of anyone who would be interested PLEASE have them register immediately. Divisions are filling up but I am still allowing teams to register as space allows the cut off will be Wednesday 12/9 midnight. We will take teams on a first-come, first-served basis.

The tournament will be held at the Berl Huffman Athletic Complex Texas 289 Loop Frontage Rd & Landmark Ln, Lubbock, TX 79415. All games will be inside the gate on the Turf fields. Field Map will not be available until very late Friday or early Saturday morning (the day of the event.) ***Turf shoes are not required****

FAQ
Q: Can I add or change a player(s) on my roster?
A: Yes, the roster is not final until the start of your first game. Please bring any roster changes to the team check-in, unless the change affects the division you are in, in which case you must notify me Immediately by text & email. All players must fill out the online waiver form and be on the paper roster you turn in via email or at check-in.

Q: What is the uniform policy?
A: Players must be in like colors and shin guards are required. Goalies need to wear a contrasting color to both teams. Numbers are not required on jerseys.

Q: What do I need to bring to the check-in?
A: 1) 5v5 Roster (link above). 2) Verify that all players have filled out the online player waiver (link above).

Q: Can a player play on 2 teams?
A: Yes a player can play on 2 teams, as long as the player is not playing down in age, or playing on 2 teams in the same division and the schedule allows. For example A Female player Born in 2012 can play in the 2011/2012 Boys division and also play in the 2011/2012 G division. (this would not be considered the same division) However: a Female player born in 2012 could not play for a 2011 team in the 2011/2012G division and a 2012 team in the 2011/2012G division – that would be playing on 2 teams in the same division.
