5v5 is starting kicking off the summer with Vero Beach on May 30th. We are also introducing a keeper cup that will be played after the 5v5 tournament. You can play is one or both. This tournament will be a great event to start the summer.

The player waivers are completed through exposure. Your coach or team manager must have the roster completed with the parents email for each player. The link will be send automatically to the email once your player is added.

Your coach or myself can resend the waiver if needed.

The playing surface for City Soccer is indoor turf. Futsal shoes or turf cleats are allowed. Not outdoor grass cleats allowed.

Futsal balls will be used. Please bring futsal balls if you can.

Hello Everyone! As we inch our way closer to our event, we want to take a moment to share a very important message with you.


COACHES - PLEASE SHARE WITH ALL OF YOUR PARENTS


We want to remind everyone of our zero tolerance policy for referee abuse at 5v5 Soccer. As we aim to create a positive and fun tournament, it is crucial that we maintain a supportive sideline environment. While competition is part of the game, let's remember to be respectful and encouraging. Referees play a vital role in ensuring fair play, and we must treat them with respect.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO:

‣ Encourage positive behavior
‣ Cheer and support without aggression
‣ Communicate with respect
‣ Focus on player development


By following these guidelines, we can create a safe and inclusive atmosphere for everyone involved. This should extend to how we treat all team supporters, coaches, staff members, players on both teams and our officials.


A FEW POINTS OF EMPHASIS ON THE 5V5 SOCCER RULES

Touchline (Sideline) Restarts: In place of throw-ins will be kick-ins OR a dribble in with the ball placed stationary on the touchline. A player may not directly kick a ball into the goal from its stationary restart position. A player may dribble the ball into play and after the ball makes a full rotation may then be kicked into the goal. Kick-ins will be treated as indirect kicks until dribbled.

Direct Restarts: A Corner Kick and Kickoff are Direct Kicks. The kick-off may go in any direction.


Goal Kick: Any time a Goal Kick is required, the goalkeeper will execute a Goal Clearance (ball must leave the Penalty Arc). The goalkeeper will start with the ball in their hands and may either (1) Throw or roll the ball, (2) Put the ball down and pass/kick, (3) put the ball down and dribble out of the Penalty Arc.

Once the ball has been put down, the ball is effectively “live”, meaning defending players may enter the penalty arc. The goalkeeper must release the ball within four seconds. Failure to execute the Goal Clearance within 4 seconds will result in an Indirect kick at the top of the arc for the opposition. A goal may not be scored directly from a goal clearance. Once the ball is OUTSIDE the Penalty Arc, a goal may be scored from anywhere on the field. The ball may not be punted or drop-kicked. Infractions will result in an Indirect Kick at the top of the arc for the opposition.

We currently have a few “Open Slots” in 2013-14s, 2011-12 and 2007-2010. If you know anyone interested in filling these slots, please have them contact me as soon as possible. We will fill slots on a first-come, first-served basis.

Schedules will be posted two days prior to the event, in the evening.

REMINDER: If your team has not paid yet and has not communicated with our staff, your team will be dropped from the event the morning 3 days prior to the event.

ADDITIONAL REMINDERS:

• Team Rosters & Player Waivers must be completed through Exposure no later than one day prior to the event.

• Check-in: Teams must arrive 30 minutes before their first scheduled game to check in.

VENUE INFORMATION: Games will be played on indoor turf. Turf shoes or futsal shoes required, cleats are not allowed. There will be concessions and food trucks on site. No outside food or drink allowed inside the facility. Refillable water bottles are allowed for the players.
