South Georgia 5v5 Series Peach State Thrashers
Messages
Please note there have been changes made to the schedule due to another team being added and another division added. The 2012/2013 BOYS Division is now on the schedule. Some divisions may be affected with this addition but please make sure to double-check your team's schedule as there may have been other teams affected. Thanks for your understanding and flexibility.
Below is an explanation of the divisions based on number of teams in your division.
Divisions with 3 teams will play each team twice for a total of 4 group games and final ranking will be determined by overall points and tiebreakers if needed.
Divisions with 4 teams will have 3 group games and then either a championship game or a 3rd place game which will not show if looking only at your team's schedule. Please ensure you are looking at the entire division schedule not just your team’s schedule.
Divisions with 5 teams will not have a championship or 3rd place match as they will play 4 group games and top 3 will be determined by overall points and tiebreakers if needed.
Make sure to download the 5v5 Soccer app from your phone's app store for the event. The 5v5 Soccer app will show the live schedule and standings as they are updated.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions. We look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday! Good Luck to all the teams!

Dear Coaches and Teams,
The tournament schedules are now posted for the 5v5 Soccer tournament this weekend in Bainbridge, GA. You can view them at this link: https://soccer.exposureevents.com/267400/south-georgia-5v5-series/schedule
PLEASE NOTE: 2012/2013 BOYS DIVISION HAS NOT BEEN SCHDULED YET. WE ARE WAITING ON CONFIRMATION FROM ANOTHER 2012/2013 TEAM BEFORE WE CAN MOVE FORWARD WITH THAT DIVISION. WE SHOULD HAVE THAT CONFIRMATION IN THE NEXT FEW HOURS. THERE MAY BE SCHEDULE CHANGES ONCE THAT DIVISION IS ADDED.
Please review the schedule to ensure you are in the correct division and that there are no conflicts with your bracket(s). Schedules are subject to change, so be sure to check back on Friday evening.
Please check your team in at the tournament headquarters table 30 minutes prior to your first game. Only one representative from each team needs to check the team in. Proof of age will not need to be presented at check in, however, we do ask that you have a printed or digital copy of each player's proof of age on site in the event of a challenge.
Thank you, and if you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me.
Best regards,
Eddie Hamilton

IMPORTANT: PLEASE SHARE WITH YOUR PARENTS
We want to remind everyone of our zero tolerance policy for referee abuse at 5v5 Soccer. As we aim to create a positive and fun tournament, it is crucial that we maintain a supportive sideline environment. While competition is part of the game, let's remember to be respectful and encouraging. Referees play a vital role in ensuring fair play, and we must treat them with respect.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO:
‣ Encourage positive behavior
‣ Cheer and support without aggression
‣ Communicate with respect
‣ Focus on player development
By following these guidelines, we can create a safe and inclusive atmosphere for everyone involved. This should extend to how we treat all team supporters, coaches, staff members, players on both teams and our officials.
A FEW POINTS OF EMPHASIS ON THE 5V5 SOCCER RULES
Touchline (Sideline) Restarts: In place of throw-ins will be kick-ins OR a dribble in with the ball placed stationary on the touchline. A player may not directly kick a ball into the goal from its stationary restart position. A player may dribble the ball into play and after the ball makes a full rotation may then be kicked into the goal. Kick-ins will be treated as indirect kicks until dribbled.
Direct Restarts: A Corner Kick and Kickoff are Direct Kicks. The kick-off may go in any direction.
Goal Kick: Any time a Goal Kick is required, the goalkeeper will execute a Goal Clearance (ball must leave the Penalty Arc). The goalkeeper will start with the ball in their hands and may either (1) Throw or roll the ball, (2) Put the ball down and pass/kick, (3) put the ball down and dribble out of the Penalty Arc.
Once the ball has been put down, the ball is effectively “live”, meaning defending players may enter the penalty arc. The goalkeeper must release the ball within four seconds. Failure to execute the Goal Clearance within 4 seconds will result in an Indirect kick at the top of the arc for the opposition. A goal may not be scored directly from a goal clearance. Once the ball is OUTSIDE the Penalty Arc, a goal may be scored from anywhere on the field. The ball may not be punted or drop-kicked. Infractions will result in an Indirect Kick at the top of the arc for the opposition.
